KUMC Society of St Stephen- November 2009 marked the 28th anniversary of the founding of Society of St. Stephen at Kingwood United Methodist Church. This organization, staffed completely by volunteers from our church and community, helps hundreds of needy families with food, clothing and utility/medication assistance. In addition to their regular weekly activities, Society of St. Stephen sponsors and organizes special school supply drives each fall, as well as Thanksgiving and Christmas food and toy programs. Several of our class members are active volunteers at Society and can tell you how rewarding it is to reach out in Jesus' name with His love and caring Spirit in someone's time of need. Society of St. Stephen is one of the KUMC mission ministries our class regularly supports with quarterly donations on your behalf, but the need for additional support is always greatest around the holidays.Your children's closets overflowing? We can help! Society of St. Stephen always needs chidlren's clothing- especially boys- size 5- 18. Society of St. Stephens is open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 am- 12 noon to accept donations. Tax certificates are available. If you have any questions about Society of St. Stephen, several class members are regular volunteers and would be happy to help you. Come join us! It is extremely rewarding to help those less fortunate. To volunteer, contact SOSS Director, Lynn Harper, 281-359-5535  Pharper5@embarqmail.com
